Pretty much everybody and their mama is a blogger nowadays. To be honest, I almost didn’t go through with this blog because of that. Especially being a “mom blogger.” I mean there are SO many of us out there. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized I needed to do something for me, that I enjoyed. Before I decided to start blogging I felt like I was losing myself. Go to work, drive home, make bottles, clean up, go to sleep, repeat. I felt like that was ALL I was doing. I got to thinking and realized there is SO much more to this life and I feel like I’m withholding my gifts that I can be sharing with the world.
I’ve always played with the idea of starting a blog but figured I didn’t really have anything important to say. I remember one time I was chatting on the phone with a friend of mine, sharing a couple of things I’d learned and implemented to be a better mother and wife. She joked that I needed to start a blog, I told her I actually was thinking about it but never really gave it any serious thought. Recently, I was browsing on Pinterest and came across a pin about blogging and how to get started. I soon got sucked into reading a bunch of articles on starting a blog and before I knew it I was buying a domain name and creating a website the next day!
What is fascinating to me, is all of the behind the scenes work that goes into running a blog. I’ve really enjoyed creating graphics, writing content, working on strategies for increasing traffic, etc. I’ve also always loved to write, but mainly as a hobby. I enjoy writing because it helps me get my thoughts organized and release stress in a healthy way.
I think the most important reason I started a blog is because I really wanted to shared the knowledge that I’ve gained in such a short amount of time. Becoming a mother/wife while trying to build a career is no joke. I had no clue where to begin. There is so much information out there and sometimes hard to trust. My vision is to educate other millennial women on being a great mother, wife and professional. I really hope that I can give you all some content that will stick with you and help you now and in the future.
Can you relate? Mama’s, what hobby/activity do you have that keeps you sane and grounded that is just for YOU. Leave me a comment below!
